Azerbaijan’s SOCAR-AQS LLC has started drilling a new well at the country’s offshore oil and gas field Gunashli in the Caspian Sea, the company told Trend Sept. 15.
“The well #31 will be drilled from the platform #11 at the Gunashli field,” the company said. “The projected depth of the well is 4,100 meters.”
Azneft production association of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR is the customer of the drilling work.
The Gunashli field plays an important role in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas industry. Its shallow part is developed by SOCAR independently, while its deep part is developed as part of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli block with foreign partners.
