BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 18. The volume of gas production in Azerbaijan has grown from 29.5 billion cubic meters in 2013 to 46.8 billion cubic meters in 2022, Trend reports citing the data from Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR.
As such, gas output in Azerbaijan saw a 58.6 percent increase over the last 10 years.

Gas production by SOCAR stood at 7.2 billion cubic meters in 2013, as compared to 8.1 billion cubic meters in 2022, increasing by 12.5 percent.
Gas output jointly with foreign companies rose by 73.5 percent from 22.3 billion cubic meters to 38.7 billion cubic meters.
Azerbaijan boasts significant gas reserves on its shelf, with the giant Shah Deniz field holding proven reserves of 1.2 trillion cubic meters of gas and 240 million tons of condensate. Additionally, the Umid-Babek hydrocarbon deposits suggest preliminary reserves of 400 billion cubic meters of gas and 80 million tons of condensate.
Among other promising structures, the Shafag-Asiman block is estimated to hold forecast reserves of 500 billion cubic meters of gas and 65 million tons of condensate. The Absheron field is set to produce 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas in its initial stage.
