Kazakhstan's Turkestan region sums up investments in 2023

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 25. The volume of investments in Kazakhstan's Turkestan region amounted to 972 billion tenge (about $2.18 billion) in 2023, which is 26.1 percent more than in 2022, said the head of the department of economics and budget planning of the region, Kanat Kayypbek, Trend reports.

According to this indicator, the Turkestan region took third place in the country. Private investments, accounting for 66.8 percent of total investments, increased by 1.5 times compared to 2022 and amounted to 649.6 billion tenge (about $1.45 billion).

In addition, the volume of industrial production in the region for the first time amounted to 1 trillion tenge (about $2.24 billion), increasing by 2.5 percent compared to the same period in 2022. The growth was mainly due to increased production in the manufacturing industry; products worth 437.8 billion tenge (about $982 million) were manufactured.

At the same time, in the manufacturing industry, 20 planned projects have been fully launched. Through projects worth 30.2 billion tenge (about $67 million), 594 jobs were created.

Moreover, the volume of gross agricultural output amounted to 1.2 trillion tenge (about $2.7 billion), and the region is the leader in the country. There is an increase in the production of meat, milk, and eggs. To provide the market with domestic products, 25 projects worth 17.1 billion tenge (about $38 million) were implemented.
