ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 14. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the critical importance of parliamentary reform at the inaugural meeting of the newly established Working Group on Parliamentary Reform, Trend reports.
“Today we are holding the first session of the Working Group on parliamentary reform. Last week, I signed a decree establishing this special Working Group. Parliamentary reform is an exceptionally important and responsible task for our country,” Tokayev said.
The president noted that the reform requires comprehensive discussion across civil society, expert circles, and Parliament.
The first meeting brought together representatives from Parliament, the Presidential Administration, the Government, political parties, legal experts, scientists, and public figures — all recognized specialists in their respective fields.
“I want to emphasize again: parliamentary reform directly affects the fate of our country and our people. I am confident that every member of the Working Group, fully aware of the historical mission entrusted to them, will make every effort to work actively,” Tokayev added.
