TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 30. Uzbekistan’s large enterprises have produced 9.2 million tons of cement from January through September 2023, Trend reports.
As per Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee, the recorded number reflects a 5.9 percent, or 542,800 tons, increase compared to the same period last year, when Uzbekistan produced 8.6 million tons of cement.
In September 2023 alone, large enterprises in Uzbekistan produced 1.2 million tons of cement, which comprises 13.04 percent of the total volume produced from the beginning of 2023.
Meanwhile, a big-scale project for the production of cement worth 3.8 trillion Uzbek soums ($312.6 million) has been initiated in Uzbekistan's Samarkand with help from CHINA Energy International Group in September 2023.
The new plant is said to have created 500 new jobs and will produce M-400 and M-500 Portland cement with a daily production capacity of 7,500 tons, or 3 million tons per year.
A technological line with the largest cement kiln in Uzbekistan has been installed at a fully automated production facility. Coal is used as fuel at the plant, which makes it possible to increase energy efficiency by installing energy-saving equipment for lower fuel consumption and more production.
As per data provided by Uzbekistan’s O‘zsanoatqurilishmateriallari Association, which provides technical, economic, and informational assistance to its enterprises in the implementation and mastering of new types of products, Karakalpak Cement Plant will produce 1.4 million tons of cement by the end of 2023.
