TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 6. The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) is developing 4 promising projects worth $434 million with Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
This was announced during a meeting between Uzbekistan's Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov with a delegation headed by the head of the Regional Office of the Islamic Development Bank Ibrahim Shukri on March 5.
The sides discussed the implementation of the current portfolio of joint projects, examined in detail the matters arising in the process of implementation, and developed specific measures for their prompt elimination.
Taking into account the high level of confidence of the Islamic Development Bank in Uzbekistan, a number of promising areas of cooperation in priority sectors of economy were considered.
At present, 8 projects worth $1.2 billion are being implemented jointly with the Islamic Development Bank.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan and the International Islamic Trade and Finance Corporation (ITFC) signed an agreement on cooperation for $600 million.
The document provides for trade financing, as well as financing in agriculture and food security.
