TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 18. Saudi Arabian Jamjoom Pharma Company will build a new plant in Uzbekistan's Tashkent Pharma Park pharmaceutical cluster, Trend reports.
The news followed a meeting between Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Health, Farkhodjon Tashpulatov, and representatives of a number of medical institutions, clinics, and pharmaceutical companies in Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects of implementing new joint projects in medicine. In particular, both parties reached an agreement on the construction of a new plant to localize the production of medicines manufactured by the company.
Meanwhile, the volume of Saudi Arabia's investment portfolio in Uzbekistan reached $24.1 billion. The country has implemented 34 investment projects in Uzbekistan.
A total of thirteen projects spanning transportation, digitization, infrastructure, healthcare, and energy will receive an additional $1.5 billion in Uzbekistan this year.
In 2023, Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia signed an array of comprehensive agreements totaling $23 billion.
