TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 25. A large investment project by China's Jianhua Ceramics, being implemented in Uzbekistan's Kokand free economic zone, has entered its final stage, Trend reports.

This was announced by the company's head, Wu Hongxian, during a meeting with Governor of the region Khayrullo Bozorov.

The project, which focuses on the production of ceramic products and tiles, has attracted direct investments totaling $50 million from Chinese investors. The products will primarily target the domestic market, with plans for export to neighboring countries.

During the meeting, the technical processes of launching the project, the status of laying necessary engineering and communication networks, and the creation of jobs were discussed.

The head of Jianhua Ceramics expressed gratitude for the comprehensive support of the project and noted that production is planned to begin in March.

To note, Chinese investments in Uzbekistan amounted to over $10 billion by the end of 2024, with bilateral trade turnover amounting to $13.1 billion.
