Iran increases guaranteed wheat purchases from farmers in Central Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 23. The volume of guaranteed wheat purchases from farmers in Iran's Central Province from May 21 through July 22 increased by 55 percent compared to the same period last year, director general of the Central Province branch of Iran's State Trading Company Gholam Reza Maleki said, Trend reports.

According to him, 195,000 tons of wheat have been purchased from farmers in the Central Province.

Maleki noted that 30 centers have been established in the Central Province to purchase wheat, and the purchase will continue until September 21.

To note, a total of 670,000 ha of agricultural land is allocated in Iran's Central Province.

To note, during the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025), 1 kilogram of wheat in Iran is purchased with a guarantee by the State Trading Company for 175,000–180,000 rials (about $4.17–$4.3).
