Possessing modern facilities to let Iran's West Azerbaijan Province shine

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 21. A total of 83 facilities in economic spheres (agriculture, production, etc.) will be put into operation in the period from August 23 through August 30 (2024) in the West Azerbaijan Province located in the northwest of Iran, Director General of the Agriculture Department of Iran's West Azerbaijan Province Khosrov Shahbazi told reporters, Trend reports.

According to him, around 19.3 trillion rials (about $47.1 million) have been spent on the commissioning of facilities in West Azerbaijan Province.

Shahbazi added that of the funds spent, 1.3 trillion rials (about $3.18 million) were provided by loans from banks, 1.26 trillion rials (about $3.06 million) by government allocations, 137 billion rials (about $334,000) by provincial appropriations, and 16.6 trillion rials (about $39.8 million) by entrepreneurs.

The official emphasized that once these facilities are up and running, a whopping 7,300 individuals will be gainfully employed.

He stated that West Azerbaijan Province has great potential for export of agricultural products and it is possible to further increase the export of agricultural products by developing the processing industry.

To note, 2,039 industrial enterprises operate in Iran's West Azerbaijan Province.
