BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 3. It is expected that crude oil production at Iran's Masjed Soleyman Oil and Gas Production Company will increase to 700,000 barrels per day in the near future, Trend reports via Iran's National Oil Company.
Masjed Soleyman Oil and Gas Production Company restarted production from one of the wells after completing remedial work on one that had its production halted about 30 years ago due to salinization.
Drilling and commissioning of the aforementioned well took place in 1930, but production ceased 30 years ago due to a lack of desalination equipment.
The repair work was carried out by local experts in the country.
To note, Iran's Masjed Soleyman Oil and Gas Production Company operates under the National South Oil Zones Company. The company owns 492 oil wells, 16 production facilities, and 4 gas pumping stations.
