Iran's Fars Province sees upward trend in export value

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 27. Exports from Iran's southern Fars province in the 10 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 19, 2025) have increased in value by 12 percent compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023, through January 20, 2024), Mohammad Sadegh Hamidian Jahromi, First Deputy Chairman Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture of Shiraz, told reporters, Trend reports.

According to Hamidian, a total of $2.3 billion worth of goods were exported from the province in the first ten months of the current Iranian year (from March to February).

He explained that exports of industrial products amounted to $910 million during this period, showing a 14 percent increase in value compared to the same period last year.

Hamidian further mentioned that mineral and mining product exports were valued at $142 million, marking a 42 percent decrease compared to the previous year. This decrease is attributed to the implementation of new regulations concerning the export of mining products and minerals.

The official noted that the agricultural sector exports reached $84 million, which represents a 20 percent decline compared to the same period last year.
