BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 11. The volume of cargo transported from Mazandaran Province in northern Iran to other regions of the country during the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 18, 2025) has increased by three percent compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), Jalal Kazemi, an official from the province's Road and Transport Department, told media, Trend reports.
Kazemi reported that over 20 million tons of goods were transported from Mazandaran to other provinces during this period. These goods included animal feed, sand, barley, citrus fruits, various types of gasoline, dairy products, cement, diesel, and more.
He also emphasized that there are presently 149 logistics and freight enterprises functioning within the jurisdiction of the province.
To note, Mazandaran, located along the Caspian Sea coast, plays a significant role in Iran’s imports, serving as a key entry point for goods from Caspian and other countries.
