Iran's exports via customs of its Kerman province are expected to reach $1 billion in the current Iranian year (March 21, 2019-March 21, 2020), Director General of Kerman Customs Administration Mohammad Reza Ghader said, Trend reports via ISNA.
The amount of goods exported via border of Kerman province in the first six months of the current Iranian year amounted to $263 million in monetary terms, Ghader said.
Compared to the same period of the last Iranian year, exports via Kerman's borders increased by 13 percent in monetary terms, but stayed at the same level in terms of weight, he added.
According to businessmen, the situation is good in the pistachio industry this year and pistachio exports are mainly carried out in the second half of the year, the director said.
The goods exported from the customs of Kerman province are mainly supplied to China, Iraq, the UAE, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia and some European countries, the customs official added.
Main export goods are pistachio, copper products, ferromolybdenum, dates, cement, dairy products, tiles, ceramics and polyethylene, he noted.
In the first six month of the current Iranian year, the amount of goods imported via the border of Kerman province amounted to $457 million in monetary terms, Ghader said.
The imports, compared to the same period of the last Iranian year, increased by 77 percent in terms of weight, but decreased by 43 percent in monetary terms, he added.
He said that the main imports were the car parts, vehicle tires, production equipment, raw materials for factories, road building and agricultural equipment and electronic spare parts and were mostly supplied from from China, Turkey and Europe.
