Iran Mercantile Exchange publicizes its sale figures

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 22. The Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) totally sold 2.86 million tons of products worth 385 trillion rials (about $701 million) during the last Iranian week (from December 14 through December 19).

The data obtained by Trend from the IME shows that in the reporting period the sale value grew by 6.5 percent, while the weight decreased by 0.7 percent against 2.84 million tons of products worth 412 trillion rials (about $750 million) during the previous Iranian week (from December 7 through December 12).

Meanwhile, 1.88 million tons of products (mainly iron ore, cement, steel, steel, sponge iron, copper, aluminum, lead, molybdenum concentrate, precious metal concentrate) worth nearly 179 trillion rials (about $325 million) were sold in the bourse's industrial and mining division.

Moreover, 190,000 tons of products (mainly vacuum button, bitumen, polymeric substances, lubricant, chemicals, sulfur, slaps wax, gas and many others) worth 74.8 trillion rials (about $136 million) were sold in the IME petrochemicals section during the mentioned period.

As many as 280,000 tons of products worth 51.3 trillion rials (about $93.4 million) were sold in the “Kish export goods” section of the Mercantile Exchange.

The IME's open auction sold 497,000 tons of products worth 73.4 trillion rials (about $134 million).

Additionally, the exchange's sub-market division sold 6.7 trillion rials worth of products weighing 14,700 tons.

To note, Iran's Mercantile Exchange functions to provide many products, to set prices. The price of products at the exchange is determined based on supply and demand. The Iranian Exchange and Securities Organization advocates that the wholesale sale of strategically important products should be carried out by the IME.
