Iran multiplies total exports via its Mazandaran province ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 13. The export of goods through the Mazandaran province ports in Iran abroad significantly grew during the first nine months of this Iranian year (from March 20 through December 20, 2024), the Director General of the Ports and Maritime Administration of Mazandaran Province Saeed Kia Kajouri told reporters, Trend reports.

He pointed out that this figure amounted to 165,000 tons, up 108 percent compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through December 21, 2023).

Kajouri also said that in the past nine months, the province's Nowshahr and Fereydunkenar ports held a certain share of maritime trade among the ports of the Caspian Sea in Iran.

The port official added that over one million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the Nowshahr port in the reporting period, indicating a year-on-year 33 percent growth.

To note, Mazandaran province has three operational ports - Nowshahr, Fereydunkenar, and Amirabad.

Iran's exports of non-oil products abroad amounted to 116 million tons worth $43.1 billion during the nine months of this Iranian year. Compared to the same period last year, this figure rose by 18 percent in value and 13.8 percent in weight terms.
