BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 12. The funds allocated for the commissioning of industrial facilities in Iran's West Azerbaijan Province rose by 97 percent in the 10 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024 through January 19, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023 through March 20, 2024), Head of the West Azerbaijan Industry, Mining, and Trade Organization Ehsan Javi told reporters, Trend reports.
He mentioned that during 10 months of this year, 77 trillion rials (circa $137 million) were spent on the establishment of industrial facilities in the province.
Javi indicated that the operationalization of these industrial facilities resulted in the employment of 10,900 individuals.
The designated authority highlighted that at present, there exists a total of 2,035 operational industrial-production establishments within the province, cumulatively attracting an investment of 202 trillion rials (approximately $359 million), employing a workforce of 62,500 individuals.
To note, Iran has more than 55,000 industrial facilities in its industrial parks, employing over one million workers.
