BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 6. Iran's non-oil exports through Mahabad customs of West Azerbaijan Province located in the country's north-west doubled last Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), Director of the Mahabad Customs Office Ahmad Ahmadi told reporters, Trend reports.
He said that last year, Iran exported non-oil products worth $42 million through Mahabad customs compared to the previous year ($21 million).
Ahmadi said that mainly petrochemical products, carpets, etc. were exported to neighboring countries through Mahabad customs.
Mahabad customs is one of nine customs operating in the West Azerbaijan Province which borders Iraq, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Last year, Iran totally exported 3.3 million tons of non-oil products worth $2.01 billion through the customs of West Azerbaijan Province.
