BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. The Eslamabad-e-Gharb Thermal Power Plant (TPP) in the Kermanshah Province, located in western Iran, increased electricity production by 16.4 percent during the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024), Executive Director of the Bistoon Electric Company of Iran Amir Barandisha told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, electricity production at the Eslamabad-e-Gharb TPP during the first two months amounted to 56.5 million kilowatt hours.
Barandisha said that this amount of electricity production in two months is considered a record figure since 2015.
He added that, taking into account the increase in electricity consumption in the country in the coming months, all repair work at the TPP has been completed and the plant has been brought to full readiness.
The Eslamabad-e-Gharb TPP has four gas-fired units, each capable of producing 25 megawatt hours of electricity.
The plant operates under the Bistoon Electric Company.
