Enemies want to stop Iran's nuclear activities, but the Iranian nation will not retreat a single step, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in Yazd, the Iranian news agency FARS reported.
Ahmadinejad said plans of the countries unwilling Iran to obtain nuclear technology destroyed, as Iran has already received these technologies.
"The countries that do not want Iran to possess nuclear technology (the Western countries and the United States), have two paths, and of course, they are free to choose. First is to continue their activities against the Iranian nuclear program. In this case, they will repeat their previous mistakes, since the Iranian nation will not retreat from the conquered peaks, and they will face an even greater defeat," Ahmadinejad said.
He said the second path for the Western countries is cooperating with Iran in the sphere of nuclear technologies.
Iran is already a country possessing nuclear technology, and we are ready to cooperate with them in justice," Ahmadinejad said.
Ahmadinejad made these statements on the eve of another round of negotiations between Iran and the countries of the 5+1 (permanent members of UN Security Council - France, the United States, UK, Russia and China, and Germany). Negotiations should take place in Istanbul on Jan. 21.
The United States and other Western countries accuse Iran of developing nuclear weapons for military purposes under the guise of a peaceful nuclear energy program. Tehran denies the charges, saying that its nuclear program is aimed solely at meeting the country's electricity needs. The U.N. Security Council adopted six resolutions in connection with the suspension of Iran's nuclear program. Four involve the use of economic sanctions on Iran.
