The parliamentary election held by Armenian separatists in Nagorno Karabakh is not serious step, Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) Head Mazahir Panahov said.
"The separatist regime previously held such elections, but neither the international community nor the U.S. State Department recognized the results of these elections," Panahov said.
Nagorno Karabakh's Armenian separatist regime intends to hold parliamentary elections May 23. It has already started the candidate registration process.
The CEC will appeal to the international community not to recognize these elections, he added.
Panahov called Nagorno-Karabakh residents, who are citizens of Azerbaijan, to take an active part in Azerbaijan's parliamentary elections scheduled for November.
