Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated leader of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai, on the national holiday - Independence Day, the state news agency AzerTag reported on Aug.18.
In his congratulatory letter to the Head of State, Aliyev expressed his confidence that joint efforts to preserve and strengthen the friendship between the two countries and expand ties in all spheres will continue.
Aliyev wished Karzai good health and success, and the friendly Afghan people - peace and prosperity.
