The visit of Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev to Washington to attend the Nuclear Security Summit has solidified progress in relations of the two countries, the US ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta told reporters Apr.6.
Cekuta noted that this visit was positive as the statements that came from Washington on the results of President Ilham Aliyev's meetings with top leadership of the US.
It is a good step forward, said the diplomat adding that these meetings have created positive conditions for further cooperation.
Cekuta said that the US is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in all the aspects, including security, economic and energy aspects, human rights and democracy aspects.
"One of these aspects is how to work together with Azerbaijan and its efforts to increase prosperity and diversify economy," said the envoy.
