Azerbaijan, Baku, April 22 / Trend H. Bagirov /

A trial over an individual accused of swindle by using names of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) high-ranking officials has begun.

Today Serious Crimes Court held a preparatory hearing on Nakhchivan resident Tofig Akberov. The judicial review is scheduled for April 26.

The accused is charged with Article 178.3.2 (swindle causing large damage) of the Criminal Code.

Akberov took Baku resident Fazil Rustamov's 110,000 manat, promising him to sell the land area of one hectare, located on the balance of SOCAR in the Binagadi village of the Binagadi district. The accused had promised to remove the land from the balance of "Binagadi Oil Company" by giving the money to the company's high-ranking officials.

Since Akberov didn't fulfill the promise and the victim appealed the Binagadi District Police Department.

As a result of Rustamov's appeal, a criminal case has been filed towards Akberov.
