ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 21. Kazakhstan and Tatarstan are strengthening their regional partnership with a new investment agreement signed between the Atyrau Social Entrepreneurship Corporation and the Industrial Cluster of the Republic of Tatarstan during a business forum in Tatarstan, Trend reports.
At the invitation of President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, a delegation from the Atyrau region, led by Akim Serik Shapkenov, arrived in Kazan for a working visit. The main goal of the visit is to strengthen Russian-Kazakh relations and expand regional cooperation. The delegation included representatives from government agencies, local authorities, and businesses in the Atyrau region.
The visit kicked off with a whirlwind tour of the petrochemical industry, where participants got the lowdown on cutting-edge technologies for processing raw materials and whipping up petrochemical products.
At the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan, the organizers presented a detailed presentation on the economic and industrial potential of the region, with a focus on strategic development directions, investment opportunities, and prospects for cooperation in the energy and industrial sectors.
Additionally, a business forum was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where the prospects for interaction with the Atyrau region, its economic potential, and investment advantages were discussed. The discussions helped generate ideas for further mutually beneficial partnerships.
“Our history is closely linked with the fraternal Tatar people, who make a significant contribution to strengthening public harmony and the economic development of our region. Kazakhstan and Tatarstan are spiritually related republics, united by common cultural traditions, which serves as a strong foundation for our cooperation. The Atyrau region takes pride in its developed oil and gas sector and highly values the achievements of Tatarstan in the petrochemical sector, which opens new opportunities for experience exchange and mutual development,” emphasized Serik Shapkenov, Akim of the Atyrau region.
As part of the forum, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Atyrau Social Entrepreneurship Corporation and the Industrial Cluster of the Republic of Tatarstan. The document was signed by Daniyar Takhanov, Chairman of the Board of Atyrau Social Entrepreneurship Corporation, and Sergey Mayorov, Chairman of the Board of the Industrial Cluster of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The delegation also visited the Bashir Rameev IT Park, which represents a multifunctional ecosystem combining education, business incubators, and innovative projects. Launched in 2022, it boasts cutting-edge coworking spaces, conference rooms, a data center, an e-sports arena, and a drone park, positioning itself as a vital hub for IT professionals and entrepreneurs alike.
To note, as of the end of November 2024, the trade turnover of agricultural products with Tatarstan amounted to $61.1 million, which is 3.7 percent higher than the same period in 2023.
