TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 6. As of May 1, 2025, Uzbekistan has nearly 1,400 electric vehicle charging stations, Trend reports, citing the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Over the past year, the number of charging stations has increased by 2.5 times.
Currently, about 92,000 electric vehicle owners are using the country's charging infrastructure. Tashkent city and the Tashkent region continue to lead in the number of charging stations, with 820 and 154 stations, respectively. Together, these two regions account for 70 percent of all electric vehicle charging stations in the country.
The top five regions with the largest charging infrastructure also include Namangan, Samarkand, and Jizzakh regions. However, the Syrdarya region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan are among the laggards, with only 13 and 14 stations, respectively.
Notably, Syrdarya is the only region where no increase in the number of charging stations was recorded over the past year. The fastest development has been observed in Tashkent city and the Tashkent region.
