The Azerbaijan National Entrepreneurs Confederation (ANEC) will apply to the government to solve current problems for entrepreneurs in both the cities and regions of the country, President of the Confederation, Mammad Musayev, said on Aug. 27.
"The Entrepreneurs Confederation is currently improving its structure and has already created 10 additional regional offices to attract entrepreneurs and look at their problems," said Musayev.
He said that recently, the ANEC, jointly with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), held a meeting with businessmen in Ganja to discuss and examine their problems. A similar meeting has been scheduled for September in Lankaran, and other regions of the country will be covered in future.
"As a result of these meetings, a package of proposals has been developed to submit it to the relevant government agencies," said Musayev.
There are more than 80,000 entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan. In order to develop the National Entrepreneurship Support Fund the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry has already spent 40 percent of the $130 million manat allocated by the 2009 public budget (74 million manat was allocated from the public budget and the remaining falls loans issued earlier).
"This shows that entrepreneurs' financial problems are being solved in Azerbaijan," said Musayev.
