Some 17,550 cars worth a total of $267.96 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in 2014, the Georgian National Statistics Service said in its report as of 2014.
In the total volume of Georgian export, the share of this category of goods to Azerbaijan stood at 49.22 percent during the reporting period, the report says.
The volume of car export to Azerbaijan decreased by 33.19 percent in terms of value and by 133,110 in terms of quantity compared to 2013.
By comparison, some 44,460 cars worth of $401.07 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in 2013.
Around 1,933 trucks in the amount of $15.79 million were exported to Azerbaijan in 2014, which is 39.4 percent less (in quantitative terms - by 2,070 trucks more) than in 2013. For comparison: around 4,000 trucks in the amount of $26.05 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in 2013.
The total amount of goods exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan during the reporting period amounted to $544.42 million or 19 percent of the country's total exports for the period.
The country's export to Azerbaijan decreased by 23.3 percent compared to 2013. By comparison, some $709.9 million worth of Georgian goods were exported to Azerbaijan in 2013.
Cars are delivered to Georgia from abroad.
