Tehran, Iran, April 28

Trend:

More than 100,000 vehicles, manufactured by two major carmakers in Iran in the past several months turned to be unsaleable, said Head of Iran Auto Parts Manufacturers Association (IAPMA) Reza Rezaei, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Explaining the reason, he pointed out that each of those cars lack some spare parts, which make impossible to sell them and instead they are stocked in stores of carmakers.

“A codified program is needed to cope with this problem under the sanctions, but the lack of such strategy has caused weak interaction between automakers and part manufacturers,” Rezaei added.

He went on to add that producing 2 million vehicles this year will not be out of reach, as long as appropriate conditions are provided for the spare parts production," the official said.

Referring to the prices of cars, which have been affected by government policies and wages, now rising by 25-30 percent, he said that the prices of petrochemical products, which have the largest share in car production will be raised by 30 percent from May, but now, the polymer factories do not sell the raw materials to the producers, in order to benefit from higher prices.
