Baku, Azerbaijan, June 27
By Matanat Nasibova - Trend:
The Azerbaijani company Kercom plans to significantly increase the manufacture of products of beekeeping, director of the company Javid Karimov told Trend June 27.
He said that the company produces 25 tons of beekeeping products annually.
“We plan to increase this figure several times,” he noted. “At the same time, out of the total production volume, about 8-10 tons account for honey. The remaining volume of the production accounts for royal jelly, propolis, pollen and other types of products. Last year, about 8 tons of honey were produced and sold under the “Mr. Bee” brand.”
The director added that the company is also seriously working in the direction of exports.
“In 2018, we exported one ton of honey to Saudi Arabia,” he said. “At the same time, other Arab countries, as well as Japan and South Korea, remain our target markets. We also have potential buyers in Europe and North America.”
“Basically, we accept online orders and export products through the website http://mrbee.az/en/,” said Karimov.
He noted that in the domestic market, the retail price of one kilogram of honey is 25-30 manats, depending on the type of product.
“We are working hard to reduce the cost of production, and from this season we are ready to offer honey at a lower price, both domestically and abroad,” he said.
Kercom has been operating in Azerbaijan since 2015.
