Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayaev dismissed Vladimir Zhumakanov from the post of chairman of the National Security Committee and appointed him as advisor to the president, the presidential press-service reported.
The name of a new chairman of the National Security Committee was announced earlier. Former Prime Minister Karim Massimov was appointed to this post.
Vladimir Zhumakanov served as chairman of the National Security Committee since Dec. 2015.
