BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, May 6. From January through March of 2024, the total output of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries products in Kyrgyzstan was 38.092 billion soms ($429.571 million), representing a 1.4 percent rise compared to the corresponding period in 2023, Trend reports.
In January-March, the country's statistical committee reported that animal production made up 97.1 percent of agricultural output, crop production 1.7 percent, forestry 0.1 percent, fisheries 0.3 percent, and services 0.8 percent.
Livestock production drove January-March gross agricultural output growth. While the nation's Chuy region produced 26 percent of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products.
As of March 23, spring crops were sown on 70,900 hectares nationwide, 53,400 hectares and 43 percent less than the last year's same date.
To note, January–March 2024 GDP in Kyrgyzstan was 248.8 billion soms ($2.791 billion), up 8.8 percent from the same period of previous year.
