BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 2. The construction of the Manas Trade and Logistics City in Kyrgyzstan's Chuy region is expected to be completed within six years, Kairat Kerimbekov, Director General of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Investment Holding, said on local radio, Trend reports.
Kerimbekov stated that the complex will be built on a 700-hectare area, of which 450 hectares have already been allocated. The remaining land is in the process of transformation. Earthworks are currently underway, with around 100 hectares of land leveled so far.
"Next year, starting in March, we plan to begin foundation work. The project is divided into six phases, each lasting one year, with each phase covering 100-120 hectares," he said.
Kerimbekov explained that the city's master plan is divided into three sections: residential areas and neighborhoods will be located on the left side, trade and business centers will be in the center, and warehouses and logistics zones will be on the right side.
Under the agreement with the government, 10 percent of the housing in the Manas Trade and Logistics City will be allocated to the State Mortgage Company.
In December 2023, an investment agreement was signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Kyrgyz-Chinese Investment Holding LLC for the implementation of the logistics complex project. Construction began on October 17, 2024, when the cornerstone was laid. The total investment for the project is expected to exceed $700 million.
