On Aug.19, Rakhmon sent a congratulatory telegram to his Afghan counterpart, Hamid Karzai, on the 90th anniversary of independence of the nation, the press service of the Tajik president said.
The friendly relations between Tajikistan and Afghanistan are an important factor in establishing stability in the region, which is of both countries' interests. Your recent visit to Tajikistan testifies for creative development of bilateral relations, Rakhmon said in his message.
During the history of independence the Afghan people has faces many difficulties, but achieved great success tackling them, Rakhmon added.
You have done much to establish the political and economic stability, peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan, the message said.
