BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 7. Uzbekistan’s number of POS (point-of-sale) terminals amounted to 433,525 as of the beginning of February 2023, Trend reports with reference to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan (CBU).
According to the bank, the number of POS terminals in Uzbekistan declined by 0.7 percent year-on-year (February 1, 2022 – 433,870).
Uzbekistan’s Xalq Bank operates the largest number of POS terminals in the reporting period – 48,837, followed by Agrobank (40,815), and Ipoteka-bank (40,700).
The CBU says that among the 32 banks of the country, the smallest number of POS terminals operates in the following banks: TBC bank – 33, Saderat bank Tashkent – 32, as well as Uzagroeksportbank – 29.
Meanwhile, as of February 1, 2023, the number of ATMs in Uzbekistan amounted to 20,390, increasing by 56.3 percent, compared to the figure for February 1, 2022 (13,041). Uzbekistan’s Xalq Bank has the largest number of ATMs (2,404), followed by Agrobank (2,155) and Kapitalbank (2,084).
At the same time, the number of users with remote banking services in Uzbekistan reached 32.6 million people as of the beginning of February 2023.
