Iran announces sales value of its petrochemical products

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 5. Iran's current annual sale of petrochemical products is 40 million tons worth $27 billion, the Head of Iran's Supreme Leader's Working Group on Economic Issues, Ali Agha Mohammadi, said at the 15th International Iran Petrochemical Forum (IPF) being held in Tehran, Trend reports.

According to him, the annual production potential of Iran's petrochemical industry is 96 million tons, and 74 million tons of petrochemical products are produced.

Agha Mohammadi said that in the next four years, 24 billion dollars will be spent to increase the country's petrochemical production potential by 35 million tons, and in the next four years, $40 billion will be spent to increase the petrochemical production potential by 54 million tons.

To note, at the end of last year, Iran's output potential of petrochemical products was 95 million tons, while in the current year (from March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025), this figure will grow by five million tons to 100 million tons.

The two-day 15th International Iranian Petrochemical Industry Forum and Exhibition, which started on August 4, has gathered more than 70 representatives of local and foreign companies.
