Export of Iran's Tabriz Petrochemical Company surges

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 17. Iranian Tabriz Petrochemical Company's exports increased by 36 percent in value and 34 percent in weight during eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023), the executive director of Iran's Tabriz Petrochemical Company Nourallah Mirashrafi told reporters, Trend reports.

According to him, Tabriz Petrochemical Company exported 76,000 tons of products worth $85 million during the eight months.

Mirshrafi observed that the company primarily exported its products to European nations, Turkey, Russia, and Iraq.

He added that the company's production amounted to 323,000 tons during the eight months.

The Iranian Tabriz Petrochemical Company has an annual production potential of 870,000 tons. This company produces polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, ABS, and other products. The company produces an average of 450,000 tons of products per year.

Meanwhile, 72 petrochemical enterprises are currently operating in Iran. The potential of petrochemical production is 96 million tons per year.

In the next five years, the country will establish up to 61 petrochemical enterprises, investing $24 billion. The production potential of these enterprises will be 35 million tons per year.

Iran aims to increase its petrochemical production to 186 million tons over the next ten years.
