The reconstruction of Arak nuclear reactor will start early next Iranian year (to start March 21), Ali Asqar Zarean, a senior advisor to Iran’s president said, ISNA news agency reported May 6.
Iran and China signed an agreement on redesigning the reactor in April. The deal on modernizing the nuclear reactor in central Iran came as part of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA aka nuclear deal) implemented in January 2016.
Under the deal, China will oversee the projects prepared by Iranian experts on modernizing the nuclear reactor.
