Two men suspected of intellectual property piracy were given extended detention for the first time ever in Serbia, the Belgrade daily Blic said Sunday.

The suspects will await trial behind bars. They were caught selling computer disks with bootlegged content from several makeshift stands, the report said, the dpa reported.

In Serbia bootleggers still largely openly sell films, music, computer programs and games from cardboard boxes. For example, an original music disk costs up to 2,000-3,000 dinars (37-50 dollars), while a bootleg goes for 250-500 dinars.
