Intercultural dialogue will help solve global problems, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said.
"Without dialogue among civilizations, we will not be able to achieve a real peace," TRT-2 quoted Ban Ki-moon as saying at a Civilizations Alliance forum in Istanbul.
The UN has always interfered in solving problems during a crisis, Ban Ki-moon said. He expressed hope that the dialogue will provide an opportunity to quickly resolve the problems facing humanity.
"This forum will enable different civilizations to learn more about one another. People of different nationalities, different religious practice can come together," Ban Ki-moon said.
On Apr. 6, Istanbul is hosting the second Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations. U.S. President Barack Obama is expected to deliver a speech.
