On May 29, 2019, the Azerbaijan-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized its monthly business meeting, entitled “Discovering Tourism Opportunities”, at Pullman Hotel Baku. The event brought together 2 guest speakers - Mr. Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of Azerbaijan Tourism Board; Mr. Javid Kazimov, Board Member at Administration of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Icharishahar". The event was also attended by Mr. Asgar Alakbarov, Chairman of the Board, Administration of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Icharishahar", honored guests, representatives from member companies.
The meeting was opened with a welcome speech by Ms. Narmina Safarova, Managing Director of the CCIAF. Then Mr. Sengstschmid informed participants about the activities of Azerbaijan Tourism Board, and gave broad information about the conception of an Azerbaijani tourism strategy, development plan of the country’s tourism. He highlighted the importance of international collaboration and spoke about their work on building relationship with new partners.
The other honored speaker - Mr. Kazimov briefed guests about the Administration of the State Historical and Architectural Reserve “Icharishahar”, cultural and historical heritage of Azerbaijan. He talked about Tourism Information Center, Museum Center, Icharishahar Centre for Traditional Arts and activities of the Centers as well as gave information about new projects such as museum cards, mobile application, restoration of Baku Khan’s house, quest tour etc.
Each speaker concluded their speech by welcoming questions from the audience. The event was followed by networking session.
