Representatives of the Polish and Georgian foreign ministries discussed bilateral relations and Polish President Bronisław Komorowski's possible visit to Georgia at a meeting in Tbilisi on Wednesday.
Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Henryk Litwin is on a working visit in Tbilisi. During the visit, he met with Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze, the ministry said.
The sides discussed bilateral relations and prospects for deepening economic and political cooperation at the meeting. An extended meeting was also held with Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister Nikoloz Vashakidze.
The sides also discussed the progress achieved last year in terms of Georgia's approximation with the EU, and issues related to Poland's future EU presidency. Particular attention was paid to the situation in the region and the necessity to resolve conflicts peacefully.
During the visit, meetings are also scheduled with the Prime Minister's Office and the Council of State Security.
