BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 17. Iran's nuclear program is developing within the framework of the rights provided for in Article 4 of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said at the conference “International Law Against Aggression: Aggression and Defense,” on November 16, Trend reports.
According to him, the development of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, including uranium enrichment, is Iran's indisputable right. Iran has never violated this right.
Araghchi stated that Iran has been under the full control of the International Atomic Energy Agency for many years and fulfills all technical obligations.
The Iranian minister noted that since the conclusion of the nuclear deal in 2015, Iran has fully complied with its obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and UN Security Council Resolution 2231, as confirmed by 15 reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Aragchi added that it was not Iran but the US that unilaterally withdrew from the agreement without any reason. If the US had fulfilled its obligations under the agreement, the current situation would be completely different.
