Azerbaijani regional bank intends to increase status of its Baku office

Azerbaijani Ganja Bank plans to convert its Baku office into a branch in 2010, the bank said.

"The bank's plans for 2010 include the transformation of bank branch in Baku into a branch to provide customers with a wider range of services", the bank said.

At present, the department provides such services as money transfers and the opening of accounts, but giving of credit is still impossible, the bank said. The bank has not sent an official request to the Central Bank yet.

"The bank also plans to open two branches in the regions of the country during 2010", the bank said.

Ganja Bank has been operating since 1994. Bank's head office is located in Ganja. The authorized capital amounts to 15 million manat. At present, there are four branches of the bank - in Ganja, Shamkir, Barda and Kapaz.

On April 5, the official exchange rate is 0.8034 manat to $1.
