Uzbekistan increases excise duty on import of some food products

Uzbekistan has increased the rates of excise duty on import of some food products since April 1, a statement said.

In particular, the rates of excise duties on imports of meat products, as well as milk and cream were increased from 20 percent up to 30 percent of the customs value. The import of sausages and similar meat products, as well as finished products or canned meat were increased from 30 percent up to 50 percent.

The excise duty on imports of yogurt, as well as cheese and cottage cheese increased from 50 percent up to 70 percent, confectionery from 30 percent up 50 percent, chewing gum from 70 percent up to 100 percent.
