The Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the British JCB Sales Limited company, Trend reports, citing the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
According to the document, the union expresses its interest in acquiring JCB products for their further use.
JCB is a manufacturer of equipment for construction, agriculture, waste handling, and demolition.
The memorandum also authorizes JCB to work together with the union to develop technical parameters of products, as well as to provide data on the latest available technologies to improve overall efficiency, reduce costs and increase productivity.
Previously, the Department for International Trade of the UK told Trend that total trade in goods and services between the UK and Turkmenistan was 27 million pounds sterling ($35.8 million) from the second quarter of 2019 to the second quarter of 2020.
The top goods exported from the UK to Turkmenistan in the reporting period were: dyeing, tanning & coloring materials, general industrial machinery, jewelry.
The top goods imported to the UK from Turkmenistan at the same period were: metal ores & scrap, aircraft, inorganic chemicals, ships, general industrial machinery.
“COVID-19 did slow down the progress of our scheduled activities due to travel restrictions, however, we’ve managed to continue our engagement via online platforms,” said the message.
