The Spanish parliament on Tuesday voted to extend Spain's mandate for participation in the international coalition mission in Libya for another two months, dpa reported.
All parliamentary parties with the exception of the United Left voted in favour of the request for extension by the government of Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
Defence Minister Carme Chacon welcomed the extension, saying that a quick resolution of the Libyan conflict was not in sight. The original mandate was limited to one month.
