Civil Registry Agency of the Ministry of Justice has introduced online system of reception of applications for citizenship of Georgia, the chairman of the agency Giorgi Vashadze said to press conference today.
Thanks to this innovation, foreign nationals wishing to obtain citizenship of Georgia will be able to complete online application form, scan all the necessary documents, electronically attach to the application and get registered. Along with this, s/he must print completed application and send signed version with the necessary documentation to the Civil Registry Agency.
According to Vashadze, this innovation is especially important for persons living abroad who wish to obtain citizenship of Georgia, because they no longer need to send special power of attorney to another person.
Cost of service is 200 lari. In the near future, it will be possible to pay this amount through the Internet using a plastic card.
