According to a plan developed by the Turkish government, minor members of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' party (PKK) will stay in Turkey after withdrawal of the PKK militants from the country, the Sabah newspaper reported on Thursday.

According to the report, in addition, children born in the PKK militants' camp Makhmur in Northern Iraq, will also be returned to Turkey. PKK minor members will return to schools where special teacher will work with them.

According to the newspaper, the relevant decision was taken by the Turkish government after parents of minor militants appealed to the country's authorities not to deport their children from the country.

Earlier, former Turkish Interior Minister Idris Naim Sahin said that more than 2000 children are involved in the ranks of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party by deception and violence.

Earlier, imprisoned PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan called upon the organisation to lay down its weapons and leave the country.

Turkish authorities in turn promised that all PKK militants that have laid down their weapons will have a safe exit from the country. The process of withdrawal of the militants from Turkey will start from May 8, 2013.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK over the creation of an independent Kurdish state has continued for more than 25 years and claimed more than 40,000 lives. The PKK is recognised as a terrorist organisation by the UN and the European Union.
