A survey will be conducted in Azerbaijan in August and September to determine the demographic situation in the country and the state of health of population, director of department of policy in health and reforms of the Center for Public Health and Reforms under the Health Ministry of Azerbaijan Tohfa Jamilova told Trend.

She said the survey will be conducted in two directions - the survey of members of social groups living in the household, and individual surveys of women. "The survey will involve all the households in Baku and in eight regions. In these households, women aged 15-49 years and their children up to five years old will be interviewed questioned," said Jamilova. The questionnaire for women will include questions about native and adopted children, their awareness of venereal diseases.

The survey on the demography and health will be conducted by the Center as part of the State Program on poverty reduction and sustainable development in Azerbaijan in 2008-2015 upon order of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Jamilova said that trainings will be conducted for interviewers in July, and the surveys will be conducted in August and September.

She said the survey results will be important for solving problems in health, education, demographic policies.

For the first time such a survey was carried out in Azerbaijan in 2006 by the State Statistics Committee in cooperation with the Macro International.
